Further into the Ashdown Forest…

On Thursday night I went out for an evening ride with Chris, a guy I met late last year. He's lived around here for years and has done lots of cycling but probably couldn't be called an enthusiast anymore – he's too busy doing other stuff. That being said he does like to get out for occasional rides and suggested we go towards the Ashdown forest, which is somewhere he knows well. I've been meaning to try riding further into the forest but just hadn't got round to it, so it was great to get up there and to have some new company. It was a lovely evening, a bit breezy but very nice nonetheless. We rode for just over 2 hours and covered 53 kms but surprisingly climbed for less than 600m. The views off the sides of the roads in the Ashdown forest are fantastic and I will definitely remember to take some photos next time. Sadly this time, all I have to show you is a map of the route.
