The daddy of action camera makers GoPro have just announced a new flagship model the Hero3. As you can see in the frankly amazing launch video – it’s better than ever. 30% smaller and 25% lighter and now supports 4k video at 12 fps. Video modes have been beefed up too with it now possible to record 1080p at 60fps and 720p at 120 frames per second.
UK Retail prices are as follows:

Silver Edition £279.99
White Edition £199.99
I have a GoPro HD Hero2 and will post some thoughts on it before long – one thing I have come to the realisation of though is that you’ll probably need more than one GoPro to really make the best of the action camera. This could be a perfect addition.
There are 3 different models as outlined above and the Black version is the highest performing version.
Do watch the video – it’s beautiful and it reinforces how brilliant these cameras are for filming action sports. Also as a Kiwi it’s great to see how much of it was filmed in New Zealand!
