UK Black Friday Cycling Bargains 2020

I know we’re supposed to hate Black Friday and the full on consumerism it represents but I love a good Black Friday Cycling bargain. I’ll defer my spending to see if I can find a deal. Largely because I don’t have the money to not look for deals but also because I enjoy finding a good price.

So with that in mind and my confession out of the way, I’ve been watching for bargains. To be frank true bargains are pretty few and far between on Black Friday. There’s always lots that’s not really any cheaper than it would normally be with shopping around and sometimes the products that are reduced are not the ones you ought to be buying either. Looking at it more cynically, Black Friday can also be a ruse to clear slow moving unwanted stock parceled up as a bargain.

2020 is different as we all know. Covid-19 and lockdown has been fantastic for the bike business as they’ve pretty sold every bike they can get hold of. Of course, now there are stock issues with supply into 2021 and this all means – there are very few bike bargains. Normally at this time of year new models would be arriving and “old” (or current stock) would be being slowly cleared, often at a discount.

That’s mostly not going to happen this year.

I have found a couple of decent buys on bikes – but it’s pretty hard

Here’s a Cervelo S3 at 30% off – if you ride a size 54cm

How about 30% off the excellent Genesis Datum?

Tredz have these fantastic gravel/road bikes reduced from £2599 to £1,799. These are a fantastic bike that have now sadly been discontinued by Genesis as they focus on steel gravel bikes. I reviewed the original Datum and loved it and this is the new version with 12mm through axles. If you mainly ride on road and want a fun, comfortable bike that can take wide tyres and handle gravel – these are brilliant bikes:

30% off a Titanium Road Bike with Ultegra Di2 and Knight Composite Carbon disc wheels? Yes, that’s also on offer at Tredz who have the Boardman SLR Titanium 9.6 2020 at a great price: https://tidd.ly/39kfc6z

Here’s 20% off a top end BMC race bike in a range of sizes:

The best bargains so far are not bikes.

Save 50% on the Eurosport player app – with a 12 month subscription for £20. That absolutely is a bargain for cycling fans – see Le Tour, The Giro, The Vuelta, the Spring Classics, and the Cyclo-cross season – all live and on catch up for £20. Just buy it if you don’t have it. Order here:

£200 for reliable, accurate power meter? If that’s a yes please, here’s a 4iii one-sided Shimano 105 power meter at Mantel:

They also have the Ultegra version for around another £40 more. That’s a bargain in my book.

A Garmin Edge 1030 for £299 – a 40% saving – that’s a fine buy too if you want a great large screen cycling GPS. In fairness, the 1030 has now been superceded by the 1030 Plus, so this is clearing old stock but it’s still a great buy https://tidd.ly/2IY7bth

Muc-Off Bike Cleaner for less than half price

Tredz have a big discount on 1 litre bottles of Muc-Off this Black Friday with the price down to £4.99 per litre – that looks very competitive. Bike cleaning is never a fun job but it’s going into winter and you’ll be doing more of this,so it might be a good time to stock up.

The further bonus is that it looks like Wahoo have stock and are offering Interest free finance!

My favourite energy gels from My Protein now at 50% discount increased from 45% – using the code BLACK – applies site wide, so that’s 50% off everything at MyProtein:

This is another old favourite that I reviewed way back in 2013. I’ve tried lots of other gels since but I always keep coming back to these and now even my son swears by them.

I’ll update this post with more bargains as I find them – if you’ve spotted any great ones, please leave me a comment!
